Windows Xp Logon Screen Does Not Appear


Once in system recovery my mouse and keyboard work, however the keyboard-mouse problem persists at the welcome screen unless I do a system restore. or remove the battery and after half an hour reinsert in the same locatiion. I then read other forums around the web using my Android phone to try and find a solution, only those solutions were no help. I would suggest you reinstall the operating system. :) I'm having that trouble also with a friends computer, as I can hit F10 and get the safe mode screen, but I check over here the program edited the registry key for the logon screen to the path of the custom one. This problem sounds like you don't have all the drivers for the motherboard installed. But even after doing a system restore, the problem starts back up again after one or two uses.

Background: Windows Update kindly deleted this useless waste of disk space for me when I ran it a few years ago.

To resolve this issue, disable the Welcome screen. Checked the Terminal Services service for good measure. Ran system file checker: sfc /scannow, there were no problems. Hope this will help you all.

Good luck. That post is from '08, so I'm not sure at this point that it applies. No I mean system recovery; after Safe Mode loads up, I can't use the mouse or keyboard at that startup screen. I dont know what happened but for the past couple days, my welcome screen stop appearing and it just log on automatically to my account.
